Dr. Gonzalez is specialized in treating problems associated with TMJ or TMD. TMJ/TMD is a disorder of the temporomandibular joint; the joint where the condyle of the mandible meets the skull. Symptoms associated with TMJ/TMD range from headaches, facial pain, grinding, chipped, broken, worn teeth, clicking or popping in the jaw, and limited jaw movement. In more extreme cases, people suffering from TMJ/TMD report chronic pain in the jaw, teeth, face, neck, shoulders, back, or any combination of these areas.
Treatment of TMJ problems can be as simple as using a removable appliance, to needing your bite adjusted to a position where your muscles, bones, and teeth are in perfect harmony.
